Prepare your ingredients:
- rice (cooked)
- sliced beef belly
- butter
- garlic
- onion
- black pepper
- soy sauce
- sugar
- oyster sauce
- mirin
- honey or agave or sugar
- green onion
- corn
The best part of this meal is the sizzling of the caramelized sauce at the end with the meat and rice combined.

Recipe - Easy Beef Pepper Rice (Pepper Lunch Inspired)
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 3 cups of cooked rice
- 1 lb thinly sliced beef belly
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 3 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 to 2 tablespoon honey (or agave or sugar)
- 2 tablespoon mirin
- 3 garlic cloves, minced

Directions
- Combine all sauce ingredients and set aside. Tightly pack the rice in a bowl, set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add onions, and sauté until lightly brown and caramelized.
- Turn down the heat to medium and move the onions to the outside of the pan so that there is a well in the center for the rice.
- Add in the rice in the center.
- Arrange the beef around the rice over the onions.
- Add corn, butter and green onion on top of the rice, then sprinkle with ground black pepper.
- Drizzle the sauce over everything and let it sizzle for at least 1-2 minutes and then mix so that you can get the char. (Lid on if prefer to ensure the meat is cooked or no longer pink) Enjoy!
