Steak Salad

I love juicy steak salads. You can’t go wrong with a steak on greens, unless you accidentally overcook it. I like my steaks medium rare. I try not to put too much oil when cooking the steak because the steak has it’s natural oil (if you end up finding a steak with some good fat on it). Using the natural fat from the beef makes a dish taste so much better.

Recently found this dressing that gives the dish a kick. Kewpie Yuzu Kosho Dressing I am also a fan of their Deep Roasted Sesame . You will want to eat salad even more once you have your hands on these sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium size steak
  • 1 romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 tablespoon yuzu dressing
  • 1 medium size onion (sliced thinly)

Directions

  1. Season the steak with salt and pepper. While the steak gets its slight marinade, wash the romaine lettuce. Make sure to strain it well before chopping into bite sizes.
  2. Heat up a skillet on high heat, add in oil and cook steak at your preference, then let it rest before slicing. (see notes)
  3. In a large bowl, add in lettuce, steak, onion, yuzu sauce and toss the salad.
Note: Make sure your steak is at room temperature before cooking, or the steak will not cook evenly. Reason for letting your steak rest, there’s still heat within the steak. It will continue to cook.
