The Mummy (Blackberry Danish)

Who else is ready for the spooky season? As much as I love spooky season, I also love playing with food and dessert shaping it into something that can be added to the holiday menu. Add this to your Halloween fun day!

Here’s what you will need:

Combined the cream cheese, sugar and lemon zest.

Roll out the puff pastry onto the parchment paper. Stretch the pastry out into a rectangular shape. Outline the pastry into thirds. Add the cheese mixture in the center, then sprinkle the blackberries on top of the cheese. Use the dough cutter to slice off the bottom corners. Then slice about 10 strips on both sides or however many you need (both sides should be even amount)

Once you’re on the last set of strips, tuck in the bottom end, then the last two strips. Brush with an egg wash and bake for about 20 minutes.

Remove the pastry out of the oven and let it cool. Combined the lemon juice, powdered sugar and then drizzle over the pastry and ready to serve!
