Recipe - Vietnamese Caramelized Pork Belly (Thit Kho)
- 1 lb pork belly, diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup fish sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 Onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic
- Boiled egg (optional)
- In a pot with medium high heat, add in the sugar. Constantly stir the sugar until it is golden brown.
- Add in the pork belly, fish sauce, water, onion, and garlic. Turn the heat up to high and stir. Constantly stir so it does not get burnt. Once the liquid reduces to half, lower the heat and simmer for 25 minutes or until the meat is cooked to your desires taste.
- Service this over rice and enjoy!
